Hanging Plant Stand
Woodwork and Macrame Workshop
This hands-on course is perfect for anyone looking to combine woodworking and macrame to create a stylish and functional piece for their home. You'll assemble a hanging plant stand and craft a macrame pot hanger, adding a personal touch to your project. Students are required to bring their own small pot (9–12 cm diameter is ideal) to ensure their stand is perfectly suited to their needs.
Guided by an experienced woodworker, you’ll explore the basics of display furniture construction, including wood selection, design principles, hand tool use, and finishing techniques. The macrame portion of the course is entirely hands-on, allowing you to create your pot hanger from scratch. It’s a fantastic introduction to the art of macrame, giving you the confidence and skills to explore more intricate designs in the future.
To ensure the project can be completed in just one day, much of the plant stand's construction will be completed before the course. However, you’ll still assemble the stand yourself and learn about the woodworking techniques and processes that went into its creation.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a beautiful plant stand tailored to your pot, a handmade macrame pot hanger, and a range of new skills that will inspire future woodworking and macrame projects.
