Why reclaimed wood?

You may have figured out by now that we’re big fans of reclaimed timber. One of the amazing things about working with pre-loved timber is the sheer variety that can be found, including species and sizes that are either impossible to find these days, or are well outside of budget for newly milled wood.

As all of our timber is reclaimed, we never know exactly what we’re going to get. However, we always have a selection of our most common timbers like Australian hardwoods, Oregon pine and Radiata pine, and a broad collection of other pieces suitable for most projects.

We stock:

• A wide selection of softwoods and hardwoods, including many local species

• Large quantities of native Australian hardwoods, varying from blondes to browns to light and dark reds

• Large quantities of Oregon pine (Douglas fir) in 3-5m lengths

• Hundreds of high quality offcuts, ranging from small blocks to small-profile strips up to 2.5m long, perfect for details of model making

• A large selection of exotic and rare timbers, including Australian red cedar, western red cedar, Southern silky oak, Kauri pine, American white oak, New Guinea rosewood, and many more

• Recycled flooring and decking of a range of sizes and species, including Kauri pine, Cypress pine, Spotted gum, Merbau, and more

• Plywood in a range of thicknesses and sheet sizes, and OSB

• A wide range of small timbers and offcuts, perfect for detail work, small projects or model making
