All our glue-ups are sanded to 120 grit. See our finishing guide, or give us a call if you have any questions on further sanding.
Finish should be applied as soon as possible after collection, and must be applied to ALL sides of the piece, including sides that aren’t visible. Uneven finishing means certain surfaces will absorb more moisture from the air than others, meaning timber is more prone to warping.
If storing your piece unfinished, please store it flat, and if possible place heavy objects (such as bricks or dumbbells) on top of the piece. This will help maintain flatness until installation.
If your piece involves countertop connectors, these will require a 10mm spanner to tighten.
If you have ordered your piece oversize, to be cut down on site, avoid cutting through areas marked with blue tape, as these indicate the location of ‘domino’ internal connections.
All our pieces are made with high quality recycled materials. Your piece may have natural features such as gum veins or knots. There will also likely be visible nail or screw holes. If you would like to avoid these, or choose your own arrangement of timbers, we can organise a design consultation to go over timber selection and arrangement before collection. There is a nominal fee for this service.
